Dem Rep: 2nd Amendment Leads To People Owning Nukes, Submarines

Actually, I would agree (at least partially) with Democrat gun-grabber/Congresswoman Gwen Moore of Wisconsin. There are absolutely no restrictions in the Second Amendment against citizens owning things like nukes, submarines, drones, and tanks. Of course, she talks about that like it’s a bad thing; that’s where she and I disagree.

I absolutely disagree with the above narrative. People ay not own nukes OR submarines - at least not "military" submarines. There are very small ones for sale at Abercrombie & Fitch for a few thousand bucks. As per the ATF individual citizens may not own anything that fires a cartridge larger than .50 caliber. Black powder muzzle-loading rifles of .60 caliber or black powder muzzle - loading cannons are exempt. There ARE C&R cannons such as the M1 75mm pack howitzer that may be owned but since they fire a fixed cartridge (which is not available) thay also may be owned.  But operational Bazookas, taNKS, mortars and such are destructive devices and banned. dE-MILITARIZED larger weapons can be owned It's shameful that elected officials are so ignorant. One recentle said that ammo clips are bullets and once fired thay can't be re-used; and another that actually said in congress that he was afraid that if too many people were on the island of Guam, it would capsize. This is the caliber of the people who make our laws. Is there ANY wonder we're in the condition we're in?

I didn't mean to imply that women are of below-average intelligence.  What I meant was, statistically, one half of any group of people will be above the group's average and one half will be below; intelligence is not determined by sex.  By restricting the vote to male landowners, The Founders were attempting to limit the franchise to those who had shown that they were ambitious and, of course, "had some skin in the game" and were not likely to vote for things that were not in their own best interests.  It might also be noted that, in those days, women could not enter into contracts nor could they serve on juries.

Your comments, Gail, about manipulation -- of men and women -- are on the mark.

Ed I am a woman and I agree - most women do not think - they get emotional first and are easily manipulated - shows the Bible was right - women are more easily deceived (not all but far too many that vote) - and like to manipulate men as well - it is probably too late to take back the vote (and we should not at this point) but I think men knew the natures of both men and women better - and did what they did to prevent what we see happening now.

Obviously, she thinks it's ok for the government to own them, even if they intend to use those instruments against US!

Richard W. is that the same Beccaria Thomas Jefferson spoke highly of-- or is that Jefferson summing up Beccaria?

“Laws that FORBID the CARRYING of ARMS…disarm ONLY those who are NEITHER inclined NOR determined to commit crimes…such laws make it WORSE for the ASSAULTED and BETTER for the ASSAILANTS; they serve rather to ENCOURAGE than to PREVENT HOMICIDES, for an UNarmed man may be ATTACKED with GREATER CONFIDENCE than an ARMED man.”

One thing that we must remember is that, when the nation was originally established, only white male landowners were allowed to vote.  Although this might seem "exclusive" in today's world, America did pretty well under this requirement.  Now that everyone has, somehow, been determined to have a "right" to vote (Please note that "rights" are bestowed upon man by his Creator and "privileges" descend from governments; hence, voting is a "privilege", not a "right".), we must be aware that, statistically, one half of all voters are of below-average intelligence.  This, in itself, might explain much of the trouble facing our nation today.

Gwen Moore should be the poster child for stupidity. How in the hell did someone this ignorant get voted into office. I guess the same way Cynthia McKinney D-GA did.

This woman should be made to resign for her stupidity and making such an imbecilic statement.
