From the Halls of Montazuma and the Shores of Tripoli; from all the Paific Atolls, our "Heroes" have come home!  How bittersweet - -will the descendants of these brave Marines now have some final closure?  Will we ever have "Peace in Our Time"?  I pray we will.  I'm old enough to remember those "dark days" and I wept as the video played.  Thank you, Darla.

It's men like this that maintains out freedom, the men and women fighting today are carring on the fight as long as we the people stand with them we'll keep the liberties and freedoms we have....

"The God who gave us life gave us liberty at the same time; the hand of force may destroy, but cannot disjoin them." --Thomas Jefferson, Rights of British America, 1774

It is only fit and proper that the remains of our brave young men "Patriots" be returned to their native soil.  Thanks be to GOD for that generation of Americans who so willing sacrificed their all for our liberties and freedom, the Freedom and Liberties that most American today take for granted.

SEMPER FI !!! Welcome home Marines. A job well done.

Comment by John L. Armstrong on March 19, 2012 at 7:47pm stirring!  I remember when the USS Makin Island (LHA) was launched here from the Ingalls shipyard in Pascagoula, MS, but never knew the story behind the name.  One picadillo on the narrative:  Makin Island atoll in the North Pacific, just north of the equator.

Sadly, I think our historic first affirmative action president will be getting rid of the Marine Corps altogether if he is re-elected. It represents far more pride in our country than he is willing to tolerate.

What an amazing and wonderful rememberance of those men who fought for our freedom. And to go along with this tribute...

Do you know where our military headstones come from?

THIS IS VERY INTERESTING AND BEAUTIFUL! Our military headstones definitely do not come from CHINA.

A great story.
