Standing against big government and for the people!
Winton Hall published an article on Breibart.com about President Obama’s recent energy speech. Here is a link to the full article followed by an introduction of the post.
http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/02/19/Obama-Energy-Is-...
“During a Friday Google+ hangout session, President Barack Obama conceded that his policies to address climate change will raise energy costs, a fact that could prove uncomfortable for Democrats in areas reliant on fossil fuel power plants:
“I have to tell you that there are some Democrats, for example, who represent states or districts that are heavily reliant on old power plants and are more heavily manufacturing based. And the truth is that if you produce power using old power plants, you’re going to be emitting more carbon, but, to upgrade those plants means energy is going to be a little more expensive, at least on the front end.
“This is not the first time Obama has admitted to supporting price-raising energy policies. In 2008, then-candidate Obama said he was fine with soaring energy prices so long as they helped curb green house gas emissions. “Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket,” he said.”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is my take on the subject based upon what I learned so far.
Energy will become more expensive.
The purchasing power of the US dollar will decline through inflation of the currency. The actions of the Federal Reserve Central Bank (FED) and the reaction of other nations to FED behavior almost guarantee a 10% inflation of the US dollar PER YEAR for at least the next two years. If we do not contain deficit spending and reform entitlements, the debt service will bankrupt our economy. It is not all about price increases. It also is about dollars becoming worth less to buy the same things. Add on the cost of bureaucracy and you pay a lot more for nothing you can use.
The neutron bomb is real and rogue nations have the capability to create an electromagnetic pulse (EMP). The United States must invest money to:
Our infrastructure also faces danger from economic warfare. Federal economic and energy policy degrades our ability to invest in energy resources to become energy self sufficient. The most devastating thing we could do to our economy is the “cap and trade” program proposed by the President.
American transportation depends upon portable energy for transportation of goods to and from all over the world. People want to begin their journey from where they are to their final destination with speed and as few transfers as possible. This is especially true for long-distance journeys. We love our cars and airplanes. We hate slow-moving trains. We also like our privacy and safety from people that steal, rob and kill people enroute. Trucks and trains are fine for cargo, but not people. People will not use them unless they are more affordable and a better solution for them than end to end alternatives. Travel is less about the journey and more about the waypoints and destinations.

Comment by June Gagnon on February 24, 2013 at 5:24am The "macronitwit" in the oval office has no "concept" of climate change; man cannot control climate; that is decided by God and Mother Nature! Like it or not, that's the way it works!
Folks, thanks for the comments. However, please do not put words into my mouth. It is not sanitary. First, I never implied that "United States" means "United States Government." I said that the FED did the damnable behavior. I did not need to say who told them to do it.
Our Constitution requires our Federal government to stick to its powers as enumerated within that document, then butt out. The rest of the power belongs to the States PROVIDED the States do not step all over the rights of the citizens.
No one is allowed to "interpret" our Constitution into a historical piece of paper to be revered but ignored. Its preamble says "PROVIDE for the common defense and PROMOTE the general welfare." Provide seems to me like a mandate. Promote sounds like a sales promotion project. Our misleaders in DC swapped the verbs around. This behavior violates their oath of office.
Comment by Richard A Weatherill on February 21, 2013 at 9:16am After reading this and the comments I can see how we all get distracted. The problem that exists as I see it is this. Mr Obama was reelected through fraud. Do any of you remember who was pushing the hardest for voting machines? I have not checked this out myself but I have been told that a George Soros co. provided the machines. I do not believe that ALL the races needed to use fraud. Mr.Obama has created a very big following buy giving stuff to people who really do not care about this country, only what are they going to get. I am positive that Allen West lost his race through fraud and no one is doing anything about it. So taxes, gun rights, energy, Benghazi, fast and furious, debt and everything else WILL NOT CHANGE!!!! If everyone votes the Demoncraps out fraud in the voting booth will keep them in. I believe most people.....don't care.
Comment by Debrajoe Smith-Beatty on February 21, 2013 at 8:07am Gilberto did you sign the petition to impeach Obama?

Comment by Timothy Starkey on February 20, 2013 at 11:41pm Harril you are 100% correct I have friends that lost their behinds in solar and wind I personally have got some positivity out of solar but no where near 100% not even close
Comment by Gilberto Garcia on February 20, 2013 at 10:37pm IF OBAMA KEEPS REGULATING OIL AND COLE OF COURSE IT WILL MORE EXPENCIVE.
WE NEED TO IMPEACH THAT LIEING FOOL
Comment by Harrill Rockett on February 20, 2013 at 9:54pm The most stupid thing I have heard is the hogwash put out about green energy. People, it does not work. If it worked people would not still be buying petroleum products for cars plus new cars to use Petroleum products, for heat, for almost everything we do. Windmills work to pump water for farmers and to make electricity for farmers. But they still run REA power lines to their farms. These are mostly hydro power. Solar can be used to heat and cook and make electricity but they still run REA power lines. Natural gas is a petroleum product but it is still used to heat and make electricity. There really is no such thing as climate change . Our climate is doing what it has always done since the earth was made. Dumb! Dumb! Dumb! de Dumb! Dumb! We are not exporting Petroleum which we have not done for years. Dumb de Dumb! Dumb! Why? We have found more production both oil and natural gas. We don't have to import it. Never did have to import it, Government policies interfered with the free market. Dumb de Dumb Dumb. Price is going up because of government EPA regulations among other things and market conditions. Dumb de Dumb Dumb. The UN has cracked down on some pollution problems in foreign countries. Dumb de Dumb Dumb. Cap and trade Dumb de Dumb Dumb. Answer the question Who does it benefit? Dumb de Dumb Dumb Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
Don't disagree with anything you say... However,
The 10%/year inflation is an act of the Fed but aided and encouraged by a government which clearly can no longer be trusted with the wealth of its citizens.
Likewise, the "electrical grid" cannot be trusted because it enables the government to steal power from those of us in states which have allowed our energy industries to grow and reallocate it to those (Californica and New Jerk come to mind) that haven't but have lots of votes.
The money to upgrade pipelines should be undertaken by their owners, not "the United States".
The last three bullet points are unobjectionable except that, again, one cannot trust the government to protect the citizens or our interests.
Finally, the greatest threat of "economic warfare" comes from the Kenyan fascist in the White House which has never altered it's plan to "overwhelm the system" by stealing from the productive to benefit the non-productive even while encouraging the growth (through illegal immigration and unemployment benefits) of that latter group.
The Kenyan fascist said in 2008 that its goal was to reduce our standard of living. With energy being the fulcrum which leverages every aspect of our economy, is any of this a surprise.
Comment by Mike Horner on February 20, 2013 at 9:12pm Obama does not want energy independence and the reason is very simple, it will hurt the Middle Eastern countries that produce oil. Oil revenues in the Middle East provide the money for terrorism and the goal of Islam to rule the world and impose Shariah law. Energy Independence by the United States would do more to win the war against terrorism than anything else we could do. The fact that Obama is against Energy Independence should give everyone a clue as to which side Obama is really on! Some might argue that Obama just wants to cut carbon emissions and protect the environment. If so, why does Obama support drilling off the coast of Brazil by Petrobas which is mostly owned by George Soros?
