What happened to marine vet Brandon Raub?

I have watched the news and many internet blogs and I don't see what happened to Brandon Raub, the marine vet who was hauled off in handcuffs by the police, FBI, and the Secret Service. I understand he was held for a couple days and then ran in front of a judge who sentenced him to a mental institution. He was never charged with a crime but as far as I know he is still in the mental institution. His only crime was posting on facebook. I read his facebook postings and never saw any which threatened anyone, only criticism of the government. Is this a warning to the rest of us? Are we so calloused that we will simply shrug our shoulders and forget Brandon? After all we didn't get hauled in. This reminds me of Nazi Germany in the early days of Hitler's regime. When they started hauling in the Jews, the people didn't say anything. Are we like those people? Where is the rage?
