Washington Examiner: “Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz on Sunday dismissed the potential political impact of a delayed decision on the Keystone XL pipeline… The State Department, which has been reviewing the environmental impact of a proposal to build an oil pipeline from Canada to refineries along the Gulf Coast, announced this week that it would postpone its decision on whether to approve the project. Some Republicans who support the project accused Democrats and the White House of purposefully pushing back a ruling until after this year’s midterm elections -- but Wasserman Schultz attempted Sunday to dismiss such a notion. ‘The decision over the Keystone pipeline is complex and it has to be examined very carefully,’ Wasserman Schultz said on NBC's ‘Meet The Press.’ ‘It affects multiple states.’ Because of the weight of the issue, Wasserman Schultz said, she wants ‘to make sure the right decision is arrived at and the president makes that decision carefully and doesn’t put politics in his decision.’” This is unbelievable. This President been on this for years and yet not come to any conclusions

The Hill: “Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) has emerged as one of the top fundraisers for Senate Democratic candidates in the midterm election campaign, filling a void left by the absence of dHillarious Clinton…Clinton is one of the few Democrats who can match Warren’s ability to excite the party base, but she has stayed on the sidelines while focusing on a memoir that is due out in June. Last year, Clinton campaigned only for New York City mayor Bill de Blasio and Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D). Warren, by contrast, has given more than $180,000 to Senate Democratic candidates and colleagues through her leadership political action committee, PAC for a Level Playing Field, according to filings with the Federal Election Commission… Democratic strategists and political experts say Warren’s growing clout could shift the caucus to the left, especially on economic and financial regulatory issues…” -

National Journal: “Space terrorism is a growing threat to U.S. national security, according to a new report. And an attack on a U.S. satellite—or damage to one from another country’s debris—could have astronomical effects on national security, says the report from the Council on Foreign Relations. The U.S. is more reliant on space than any other nation to carry out critical national security functions, such as precision attacks on suspected terrorists and image analysis of nuclear-weapons programs…”

nObama’s cold war retrofit -   NYT: “While not officially final, the White House is preparing to nominate John F. Tefft, a career diplomat who previously served as ambassador to Ukraine, Georgia and Lithuania. When the search began months ago, administration officials were leery of sending Mr. Tefft because of concern that his experience in former Soviet republics that have flouted Moscow’s influence would irritate Russia. Now, officials said, there is no reluctance to offend the Kremlin. In effect, Mr. nObama is retrofitting for a new age the approach to Moscow that was first set out by the diplomat George F. Kennan in 1947 and that dominated American strategy through the fall of the Soviet Union.” - Fox News

Nothing is over -  “Well, ‘the debate is over’ is something of a mantra. The debate is over about climate change -- everyone, be quiet. The debate is over about early childhood education -- everyone, be quiet. Lots of things are supposedly over. You hear that from people who are finding the evidence inconvenient. Now, is it working? That's a fairly minimal claim. I mean, the farm subsidies in this country are working. Whether or not they are doing good work is another matter…And he is contradicting himself. He says, we should all stop talking about this except Democrats this fall should campaign on the basis of the multiform excellence of the Affordable Care Act.” George Will on “Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace - Fox News
The FBI Is Not Sabotaging the 9/11 Military Commission
It is no secret that the nObama administration believes Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and the other 9/11 plotters should be given a civilian criminal trial in New York City, not a military commission in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba...Attorney General Holder has repeatedly said the case should be in civilian court – even claiming that if the transfer to Manhattan from the military justice system had gone according to his plan, the terrorists would already be convicted and facing the death penalty. I have responded to the attorney general’s claims on other occasions (including observing how brazen it is for someone who has spent years – both in and out of government - undermining military commissions to complain about how long the commission is taking). I’ve also opined that the attorney general’s maneuvering of two al-Qaeda conspiracy cases into civilian court in Manhattan strategically benefited the defense lawyers at Gitmo: They can now argue that the government is violating fundamental fairness by trying their clients in military court while other defendants charged with the exact same conspiracy have enjoyed the enhanced due process of civilian prosecution.
The NSA, Glenn Greenwald, and Angela Merkel
Having apparently been assured by the Eric Holder Justice Department that he won’t face espionage charges, unlike his source Edward Snowden, Glenn Greenwald has returned to the U.S. and is cashing in on his notoriety...His book, No Place to Hide: Edward Snowden, the NSA, and the U.S. Surveillance State, will be released soon, and he will be appearing on May 15 with one of his heroes, Noam Chomsky, a leading member of the Communist Party spin-off, the Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism. However, there is a 10-year statute of limitations, meaning that the administration that follows Obama’s could charge Snowden’s media accomplices with violating the Espionage Act (Section 798). Greenwald’s friend and mentor, Noam Chomsky, is a major supporter of the Hezbollah terrorist group, and opposed the killing of Osama bin Laden.
Allegations of fraud plague hedge fund of Democratic super-donor
Farallon Capital Partners L.P., a fund run by Farallon Capital Management, the multibillion-dollar hedge fund founded by Democratic donor Tom Steyer, became a limited partner in a project to build a large shopping mall near Seattle, Wash. the mid-1990s after it guaranteed a line of credit for the project. According to the Texas case, Farallon and other parties involved in the deal operated “in conjunction with” foreign-owned corporations in Texas “to defraud a group of over three-hundred German investors out of approximately sixty-million dollars.” A “Ponzi scheme” in which the companies planning to build what was to be called the Washington Supermall “transfer[red] millions of dollars in funds through ‘loans’ and ‘advances’ to other unrelated entities,” the plaintiffs alleged.
 nObamacare's "Unfolding Fiscal Disaster"
nObamacare is more than just a new entitlement. Charles Blahous of economic policy think tank Economics 21 writes about just how large of an impact that its provisions will have on the economy in the future...Spending on nObamacare's coverage expansion is immediately a massive entitlement expansion, and will only get worse. Blahaus contrasts nObamacare with our other major entitlement programs and finds that ACA spends more than all but Medicare, and does so much faster:
Trick for Illegal Immigrants: Amnesty for Military Service
Here’s a disturbing new idea from some members of Congress: Trade instant citizenship to illegal immigrants if they’ll agree to serve in the U.S. military...Serving in the military is a high calling and a privilege—certainly not something to be treated as a bargaining chip in immigration politics. Yet these congressmen are trying to sneak this provision into the larger National Defense Authorization Act, which lays out the budget for the Department of Defense. What’s more, the immigrants in question would be those who are brought to the U.S. as children—often called DREAMers (after the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act).
My Name On the Clinton Enemies List
Holiday weekends often produce unusual news. For me, this Easter weekend was especially strange...You see, late on Friday, the Clinton Presidential Library released some documents that revealed something I’ve known for decades but had trouble proving…My name was on the Clinton White House’s list of spies and enemies. Now, such lists aren’t new, but they were rarely ever seen by anyone outside of the administration. Beginning in 1978, however, the Presidential Records Act changed the ownership of presidential and White House documents, making it mandatory that they be released over a fixed timetable.
Democrats & Muslim Lawmakers Push Sharia Legislation
There is very dangerous legislation making its way through both the House of Representatives and Senate that will finish the United States. The sharia bill calls for Islamic blasphemy laws...the criminalization of speech that offends or insults — who, exactly? Well, that is up to the enforcer, is it not? On Wednesday, Senator Ed Markey (D-MA) introduced “The Hate Crime Reporting Act of 2014″ (S.2219), which seeks “to examine the prevalence of hate crime and hate speech on the Internet, television, and radio to better address such crimes.” Congressman Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) introduced a companion bill in the House – H.R. 3878.
Funds I Love Islam Program in Czech Republic with Tax Dollars
In a 2003 interview with the Boston Globe, Hanoi John Kerry said that he and his wife Teresa regularly attended Mass, but added that he still had some policy differences...Nothing changed in the last decade. To these folks, everything is political, even God... "I believe in the separation of church and state. I believe in not wearing it on my sleeve," Hanoi Kerry said. "I have my obvious, clear differences with respect to some of the liturgy." He added, "There are other parts that are quite stirring and meaningful."
Hey dinky Harry, What About Elijah Cummings and Lois Lerner
dinky Harry Reid is confused. He believes that the premeditated murders of service personnel at Ft. Hood to be rightly classified as 'workplace violence,' keeping with the nObama administration's rule to not bring negative attention to Islam and Muslims. At the same time, dinky Reid also believes that those who stand against the federal government in a display of patriotism against the overreach of that federal government are 'domestic terrorists.' Yet, we have people like Elijah Cummings and Lois Lerner who also live in a different legal sphere. They believe (or at least, want us to believe) that what they do is in the best interest of America. This is in spite of the fact that they break the law routinely, yet rail against those who try to bring those episodes of law-breaking to the surface.
 Texas Border Sheriff Pleads Guilty!
In August, 2012, PJ Media and PJTV broke a story and brought undercover reports to you--that Hidalgo County's Sheriffs Department was riddled with corruption and scandal...This border county in Texas is a crucial area in our border security and a strategic center in the drug war. The Sheriff was 'cooking the stats' to suggest less violent crimes were being perpetrated in his county, thereby receiving more Federal money, and making the Democrats, as high up as the President, look good. He has now pleaded guilty, so we return to explain how this story unfolded. And for the first time on video, Bryan Preston is joined by Rebecca Cervera, the original source for the story. Join Tammy Bruce as she reports on this important story.
'Close Observers of History' Hate Ollie North

For its second season, the creators of the FX series "The Americans" have chosen a new source for insight into the Cold War during the Reagan years -- one Lt. Col. Oliver North.

It's a dramatic reversal from the first season, and it has infuriated some hard leftists. The show began with the shocking promise from creator Joel Weisberg that the series' heroes would be KGB agents: "We're making them the sympathetic characters. I'd go so far as to say they're the heroes." It quickly became apparent that these characters could be unsentimental killers of innocent Americans, so perhaps that triggered a change of heart.

What's resulted in the second season has been a more conventional dramatist's take: The KGB agents are morally conflicted, and so is the FBI agent who lives across the street. The reaction from the hard left is equally conventional. After shocking conservatives before the first season began, Weisberg's decision to hire North to consult on the second season has thrown these liberals for a loop.

The New York Times ran a nasty article headlined "Oliver North, Now in the Service of TV's K.G.B." Get a load of how TV reporter Dave Itzkoff described liberals who are annoyed with North's support for anti-communist freedom fighters in Nicaragua during the '80s: "Close observers of contemporary American history say they are irritated by what they see as Mr. North's continued attempts to aggrandize and whitewash his role in it."

But what does Iran-Contra have to do with this FX storyline? And who are those nameless "close observers" anyway?

The "close observers," who must not be called "liberals," include Leon Wieseltier, the literary editor of The New Republic, who said North's involvement in "The Americans" was "basically a bad joke." He complained, "Everything that happens in history in this country eventually winds up as entertainment ... you become notorious, and your notoriety makes you famous, and fame is the American version of glory."

Wieseltier concluded: "Given his insistence upon his purity of heart and soul, there's something a little tacky about his exploiting it."

The Times and Wieseltier do not hold this opinion on other modern historical figures if they're standing on the other side of the fence. Valerie Plame Wilson, a former CIA operations officer, certainly cashed in with lucrative book and movie deals after her identity was revealed, but she was trashing George W. Bush, so she wasn't exploiting, aggrandizing or whitewashing. Her sudden wealth was a cash reward akin to an alternate Nobel Peace Prize.

Or take Anita Hill, a favorite of New York Times editor Jill Abramson. Hill insisted on the "purity" of her heart and soul after her unsubstantiated charges of sexual harassment against Clarence Thomas. Even when Hill exploited it for a book deal worth more than a million dollars, after insisting she'd never do such a thing, it still didn't chill left-wing enthusiasm. In fact, they're still at it.

The Times recently lauded a new liberal documentary called "Anita," which hails Hill. The Times described it as "an important historical document about an event that prompted a larger cultural conversation about sexual harassment."

The paper wasn't impolite enough to nudge out of its own editorial-page archives a Hill article defending Bill Clinton during the Lewinsky scandal in 1998. Hill bizarrely claimed, "The substance of sex-related accusations against President Clinton differs dramatically from those raised against Justice Thomas or (Sen. Bob) Packwood." That's ridiculous on its face.

For all their alleged appreciation of nuance and complexity, liberal journalists play a simplistic game in identifying saints and sinners, geniuses and goons. The degree to which you embrace and advance liberalism is the degree to which you can do no wrong, and commit no ethical, egotistical or mercenary offense.
