Standing against big government and for the people!

By way of a disclaimer, I didn’t watch the inaugural speech. I heard some excerpts on the few news channels I watched last night. However, I did read the full transcript of the speech. Reading the speech is bad enough, but having to watch Barack Obama’s arrogant mannerisms while delivering it are more than my digestive system can tolerate. That being said, this speech trampled every one of the Bill of Rights, save only for the quartering of soldiers.

In a speech that used the phrase, We, the People, no less than five times, he thumbed his nose at the freedom of speech of the 1st Amendment and the militias of the 2nd Amendment. His actions, paired with those who were misguided enough to vote for the National Defense Authorization Act continue to trample the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th Amendments. The 9th Amendment, which has been misused by administrations to remove some “rights” while protecting others, will be further manipulated to extend more abortion rights and gay rights by this administration. As for the 10th Amendment, as long as Obama believes that massive federal government makes all the rules, the states will not take a back seat; they’ll miss the whole car! At best, they’ll just be sued, like Arizona.

This speech advocated for more of what We, the People have had for the last four years, only more aggressively. It calls for green energy, gay marriage, more government handouts and stricter gun control (if not confiscation), while failing to mention the 22 million unemployed, the $16.48 trillion national debt or the declining consumer confidence. It mentions the high cost of health care, which was supposed to go down with Obamacare. It dredges up bridges and infrastructure which the stimulus was supposed to counter.

This speech was nothing more than a compilation of excerpts from every speech that Obama has given over the last five years. It calls for higher taxes from the rich, defined as anyone who gets a check. It calls for the further avoidance of cuts to the entitlements, such as Social Security and Medicare, the driving forces behind out debt. It calls for the gutting of the military, at the same time China, Iran and North Africa are preparing for war. The speech calls for more spending, even as we borrow 46 cents for every dollar we spend.

In the real world, you can only borrow as long as creditors have the confidence they will be paid back. China is already hinting at a debt for land deal. That doesn’t seem to me to be anything in our best interests. The only way to avoid this is to stop spending and pass a balanced budget amendment. That’s not the direction this speech takes us.

Various United Nations programs, such as Agenda 21 (yes, it IS real), the Small Arms Treaty and the Laws of the Seas Treaty have been looked at favorably by this administration. In reality, it is nothing but a surrender of this nation’s sovereignty. that must be stopped! That’s not the direction this speech takes us.

Throughout this speech, the president implies the Founding Fathers would agree with his agenda were they alive today. Thomas Jefferson said,” The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions that I wish it always to be kept alive.” It doesn’t sound much like an agreement to me. I think Jefferson had the right idea.

Shirley-

You are right, we are  being kept like a bunch of lab rats where the elite decide to what rule we should be "trained."  In medical parlance, hospitals and doctors (and patients) who do not toe the line and follow the directive face fines, and are deemed "non-compliant."  How I hate that word.  Worse yet, those of us who are taxpayers are subsidizing these actions and the substandard education that makes it more possible.  I am very proud to be "NONCOMPLIANT."

Everything the Govt does is to try and train and change our habits. This is a small excerpt from this mornings newspaper. How many more of these laws are in this bill that will either put us in the poorhouse or kill us.

'The Affordable Care Act — “Obamacare” to its detractors — allows health insurers to charge smokers buying individual policies up to 50 percent higher premiums starting next Jan. 1.

For a 55-year-old smoker, the penalty could reach nearly $4,250 a year. A 60-
year-old could wind up paying nearly $5,100 on top of premiums."

Righteousness vs Evil.

For 225 years Our Constitutional Republic has lasted. The ones (Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Hamilton, Franklin, Jay, Henry, Lee) that Believed that Righteousness would triumph over Evil. The point of reference was The Holy BIble ( GOD's WORD). So do I.

Semper Fidelis,

Watch out for the UN mtg./vote on the Small Arms Treaty in March.  With all of the Gun Free Zone shootings, the MSM's feigned outrage and pushing for the Imposter in chief's Assault Weapons/Hi-cap Mags EO's and other related issues,  I can see Obama licking his chops in preparation of signing off on it, bypassing Congress.  We The People need to be ready!

Given the serious moves in the Senate to do away with the filibuster we can look for Obama to force several very bad TREATIES down our throat... We all must remember that TREATIES have the force of CONSTITUTIONAL LAW... are as effective as AMENDMENTS to the Constitution.  It only takes a 2/3rds vote in the Senate to approve a treaty...and with the support of a few RINO's that magic number of 67 is only 12 votes away from a Democratic sweep.

We must also remember that their are factions in the government that (wrongfully but effectively) believe a Treaty becomes law even without the Senate's approval if it is left on the President's desk without action... this is based on some obscure 'Convention' we signed on too long ago.  However, the Constitution is clear... no Treaty can become law without being approved by 2/3rds of the Senate.

Look for an expanded use of the Executive Order and greater use of regulatory actions... the arbitrary and capricious abuse and corruption of our laws thru gross misinterpretation and revisionist application of existing law will be used to force our Nation into a 'New World Socialist Order'.

I agree with Dian ! The conservative right has let us down too many times. Look at what Boehner has done, cry ,while giving Obama just what he wants and then says he had no choice. Give me a conservative with a brain and a backbone if you can find one. The House is run by Republicans who are so clueless as to how to be a winner it makes me gag.Plus the House just reelected Boehner as Speaker again. What FOR, so he can cry more?   As for the Catholic Church , I totally agree with you , but I haven't gotten to where you are just yet.

Why would any one listen to his rhetoric? It is the same as his agenda. Nothing has changed and he won't stop. Obama is not the problem, the people who voted for his agenda and hand outs are the problem and unfortunately we have allowed the schools and universities to undermine our Constitution thru  teaching that socialism /fascism/ communism is the best political method of governance. We fell asleep and are just now waking up . We must put a stop to this "progressive " way of thinking among our youth and promote capitalism / free markets once again or we will loose our Republic, if we haven't already.

Lynn, that is a wonderful idea, however, if you check where things are made when buying them, there isn't much left to cloth and feed Americans.  The old America vehicle maker left if Ford.  Even the big stores like Macy's, L.L. Bean and many others, all have clothes made in China or somewhere other than the U.S.  And, watch it with canned or frozen foods.  Go ahead, read the labels.  You might get a big surprise.

Again I say it is all well and good to debate it here- Pick up talking points for limited Government then let your elected Representatives KNOW where you stand!

If you are represented by a Democrat, Then let this person KNOW you are not fooled by nor appreciate the same old Big Daddy Government arguements while so many things the Chosen one promised like bringing the country together  has not worked-

Let them know you are displeased and dismayed by the Presidents speech and expected better of the leader of the free world!

Enough of the feel good speeches and look around you- I have! Irt is depressing and maddening how little has changed since 2009!
