Standing against big government and for the people!

Secession??  You don't ask for permission. . . . you SECEDE!!

Recent articles and discussion about ‘secession’ is prevalent in the USA revealing disgust and resistance currently rampant in the USA as a result of the recent Presidential election.  It seems the 50% of the USA who are now totally ‘unrepresented’ by the governing majority in DC are trying to find a voice in the direction our Nation is taking by signing petitions to the President to secede from the Union.  This is unprecedented.  Never before in the history of our Nation has there been a clamor for State secession from the Union such as this.

Current data show 50 States have submitted signed petitions (containing a minimum of 25,000 signatures) to the President asking permission to secede from the Union.  The President recently responded to the requests stating in so many words, "In a nation of 300 million people — each with their own set of deeply-held beliefs — democracy can be noisy and controversial. And that's a good thing. Free and open debate is what makes this country work, and many people around the world risk their lives every day for the liberties we often take for granted,"  "But as much as we value a healthy debate, we don't let that debate tear us apart."  Basically this response from our President said, ‘Just don’t get excited now’, ‘sit down, shut up and follow my Executive Orders’.

I suggest the ‘petitioners’ are grossly mislead.  Petitioning the President to secede is a for-gone form of submission.  I suggest we ‘NEVER ASK PERMISSION’ for anything from our federal government. In 1776, the Revolutionary’s didn’t ask permission from King George to secede.  Our federal government is our ‘service provider’.  We tell them what we are going to do!!  They like it or lump it!!

Consider this scenario.  In a ‘free society’ such as the USA, I consider myself a sovereign individual.  That is to say, I manage my life.  I decide who to marry, I decide what my career will be, I decide where I will live, I decide what church I will attend, I decide how to invest, I decide how and when I will recreate, I decide what State I will live in, I decide what association(s) I will join, I pretty much decide how I will live my life.  I run my personal life myself and I set up my ‘personal files’ based on the major actors in my life.  I have a file titled ‘Finances’, I have a file titled ‘Medical’, I have a file titled ‘Insurance’, I have a file titled ‘Employment/Retirement and I have a file titled ‘SERVICES’.

My ‘Services’ file includes those ‘services’ I need to fulfil my needs on a daily basis.  They include, trash pickup, yard maintenance, electricity provider, natural gas provider, TV signal provider, Internet access provider, phone communication provider.  These ‘services’ provide my life a certain level of affluence, comfort and security.

So much for me as an individual.   I subscribe to other entities to assist me to maintain the structure of my life affording me the life style I want in a free society.

Now I take you to the State level.  The State I live in becomes a Congress of people who want to live in a similar fashion as I.  Their values and mine are the same.  We want to live as we have prescribed.  Our State has a similar ‘file system’ as my personal system.  Finance, Insurance, Medical, Employment and ‘Services’.

The State I choose to live in is also ‘sovereign’.  It has it’s place in a world society.  It has it’s ‘right’ to liberty, freedom, religion, finances, economy, services.  And in the case of ‘Services’, a major service available to the State is the ‘PROTECTION’ afforded by a ‘NATIONAL GOVERNMENT’ from foreign enemies.  The ‘service’ of a National Government also affords the State(s) a common currency making commerce between the States and others much more efficient.  These ‘services’ among others are the basis for ‘establishing a central government’.   There are no other reasons.

Once the States and the Individual understand the ‘Central Government’ as a ‘SERVICE’ available to the States, they will then put it in the proper perspective.

Imagine your TV provider telling you that you can only get their signal at certain hours of the day.  Imagine your Internet service provider telling you that your service is not available between certain hours of the day.  Imagine your telephone provider telling you that service between city ‘A’ and city ‘B’ is only available on Sundays,.

The Federal Government is in place for specific reasons.  The National Defense, the coordination of interstate commerce, the coordination of air travel, the coordination of regulations facilitating seamless State to State interfaces, etc.

This is a ‘SERVICE’ and we as sovereign individuals and sovereign States should be DEMANDING redress regarding our sovereign rights in this Union of States.

The Federal Government is not our ‘DICTATOR’, it is a ‘SERVICE’ we pay for through our federal taxes.

My point here is we have allowed our Federal Government to become the ‘the major folder’ in our file.  It now contains all our ‘sub-files’ instead of being just the lowly ‘sub-file’ it really represents in our lives.

Now back to ‘secession’.  Can you imagine ‘petitioning’ your ‘Cable Company’ to allow you to stop using them?  It’s ludicrous!!  Can you envision calling Verizon and ‘asking them’, may I stop subscribing to your service??  Or calling Direct TV and asking them, ‘may I stop using your service’??  Forget it!!  They should be competing for your subscription.  Same for the Federal Government.

Take the State of Maine.  What if they decided they weren’t getting enough ‘bang for their buck’ and told the US Federal Government, ‘go pound sand’, I’m switching to Canada for my ‘protection from my foreign enemies’.

What if Missouri decided to tell the Federal Government they decided to quit using them for protection from their national enemies?  Missouri’s Governor took a stand and decided to ‘contract’ with Canada for their international protection and facilitate interstate and international commerce.   What’s the US Federal Government going to do about it??

You say, hey, you can’t do that, how can Canada afford you all those benefits not even being connected (geographically) with you??  You respond, tell me how Alaska and Hawaii are doing not being ‘connected’ to the mainland US?

I say, get real States of America.  The Federal Government of the USA isn’t the only ‘game in town’.

Now about secession.  Asking the US Federal Government for permission to secede is ludicrous.  The State is ‘sovereign’.  The State decides it’s own future, it’s own pathway.  It’s own partners.  It’s citizens have no obligation to the US Government.  Citizens of any State basically ‘contract’ with the US Federal Government for ‘SERVICES’.  That’s all.  Since when did the Federal Government decide they had all that power over the States??

I suggest the signatures to SECEDE from the USA should be presented to each State Governor involved and not the President of the USA.  Citizens of a State are always indentured to their Governor first.  If citizens of a State petition their Governor to SECEDE from the Union, their Governor, as their primary representative is obligated to act in their behalf.  And the State Governors are as a group much STRONGER than the President.  DC has nothing to say about it.  Of course, if you ask the President or a member of the Supreme Court to secede, they’re going to say, ‘you can’t do that’.  And ‘no’, you can’t.  In actuality, they don’t get a vote!!  They are in the ‘Services’ business.  When a ‘client’ decides to quit doing business with them, they don’t have a vote.

Consider your cable provider telling you that you have to do this, and that, or you will not receive their service.   I think you would act like me and tell them to ‘take a hike’.  They don’t have a vote about whether you remain their customer or not. Same with the Federal Government and their subscribers, the States, when the State(s) say they no longer want to do business with the Federal Government, (secede) the Federal Government has nothing to say about it.  So I maintain, asking the President for permission to secede is ludicrous.  You just ‘SECEDE’ . . . . period.  The Federal Government has nothing to say about it.  If they do, who cares??  I think I’ll go join Canada.  What is the USA going to do about it??  And by what authority??  They have none.  There is nothing in the Constitution about it.  There is no contract.

Red State Warrior, you are absolutely correct.

The very idea that anyone would ask permission to secede is insane.

We just SECEDE....and the sooner, the better.  Let the blue state enclaves support their own socialist welfare programs with their money...not our's.  They can enforce all the gun control measures they want to on their own ignorant welfare masses.

An outstanding reminder of what secession really is and how it works, Red State Warrior! Any move toward seceding from a corrupt, power mad central government such as we currently have needs to be done from the bottom up, not from the top down. The petitions to the White House concerning secession were in reality little more than growling our dissatisfacton. Those of us who are receptive to seceding from the dictatorship seizing power in Washington need to focus our efforts at the state level, for it is the States that have the Constitutional right to secede. Secession would be a hard row to hoe and would present many challenges to any seceding state, but when it comes down to either accepting the establishment of an American Fuhrer or leaving the Union, what choice is there, really? We should be gathering up petitions supporting secession and handing them over to our governors and state legislatures and demanding action. Don't waste your time in petitioning the President - he'll find out soon enough when his personal empire starts slipping through his fingers.

True. We don't need their permission.
