Raising Taxes Is Not a Resolution

A Liberal phoned into the Rush Limbaugh show this afternoon, claiming to be pleased that tax rates had been increased, asked fill-in host Doug Urbanski to stop using the term “class warfare”, and that Mitt Romney should be held upside-down so that all his money could fall out of his pockets. In a few minutes, this caller from NJ illustrated what it is that we dislike about Liberals-lack of tolerance, class envy, and arrogance.

Liberals so love the poor that they strive to create as many of them as possible. I believe that instead of trying to bring the so-called “rich” down to our level, how about we strive to lift more folks into prosperity? Soaking the rich is like rooting for your favorite sports team; you’ll celebrate when they win a championship, but it won’t change a thing about your daily routine.

The fact that Mitt Romney pays more taxes in a year than I’ll probably pay in a lifetime belies the stupid Liberal “pay your fair share” meme. A simple math problem will illustrate:

A tax rate of 15% on income of $1,000,000 equals a $150,000 tax bill while 30% of $40,000 gives you a tax bill of $12,000. Which one of these two is paying their “fair share”? In reality, someone making $40,000 probably has a mortgage and children; more than likely they will see a refund in the thousands of dollars. So I ask again, who is paying a “fair share”?

Raising tax rates on the so-called rich hurts everyone who’s trying to get ahead in life. Business owners who struggle to meet payroll will have to choose between raising prices on goods, employee furloughs, or reductions in pay raises and benefits to employees. Employees who are trying to carve out a good life for themselves have to contend with the increased payroll tax that went into effect with the supposed resolution of the “fiscal cliff”, eroding their take-home pay by 2%.

Government spending is the problem but the solution is simple-government needs to cut spending. Until spending is cut, financial confiscation by legislative fiat will never solve the real problem.

The number of "officials" in the 0bama administration and Congress that are GUILTY of violating their oath is off the chart!

This deficit translates into $3.3 billion per day, or to make it clearer to us peons, it is a daily deficit, including weekends and holidays, amounting to $3,287 million per day, or, better yet, to $3,287,000,000 every day of the year of that printed paper money that is not backed by anything real, only by vague promises in the far-away future. Every hour every day throughout the year those Washington criminals are printing $137 million - or, to make it more comprehensible to the working stiffs, $137,000,000/hour. Shall I translate this number into a working wage of $30/hour, 8 hours per day, for 250 workdays a year? This working stiff is making a gross total of $60,000 per year minus taxes and health insurance of about $15,000 – for a net of $45,000/year. That worthless paper "money" is worth 4,566,000 such working hours every darn hour of the year, day and night, weekends and holidays included. In other words, this total annual deficit is worth the net wages of about 27,000,000 such working stiffs. By the end of Obama’s second term the national debt will be – let me take a deep breath - $22,000,000,000,000, or twenty two million millions.

If that is not "high crime and misdemeanor" - then I do not know the meaning of those words.

Comment by Gloria Wedemeyer on January 3, 2013 at 4:28pm: I don't think Obama can relate to math real well. I heard him say he wanted to raise the taxes on millionaires and billionaires. Does he actually think people making $250,000 or $450,000 fall into that category. I guess he doesn't know history too well, as when he was running the first time, he thought he had been in about 57 states and just a month or so ago, he did not even know what the debt was. He is so clueless, I can't believe how people say he is so intelligent. My 16 old grandson knows more than he does. Well, I wonder who he will go after when he realizes that the taxes will do nothing for all the money he wants to spend. And I would love to know when the scums in Washington decided it was much fairer to tax one group at a higher rate than another group. Maybe Obama will say that the white people of this country have had it better than any other group, so maybe they should pay more. Or maybe he will say that the blacks haven't really contributed that much so they should pay more. Or then maybe he will say that the illegals haven't really given their fair share, so they should pay more taxes. And once a precedent is set, it is hard to go back. We are all citizens and everyone should pair at the same rate. The fiscal cliff deal gives tax breaks to Hollywood and how can that be with the amount of profit they bring in. I also heard the NFL is listed as a non-profit. How can that be? I think to be fair, we should say anytime anyone goes out on a basketball court or golf course, they should pay a thousand tax. No more insane that what he and all the libs feel. It doesn't pay to be exceptional in this country anymore. Edison would turn over in his grave to know that you shouldn't give your all.
