1. Let Us Adore Him
Advent is not just about acknowledging Jesus, but adoring him. Christmas is not first about witness, but about worship. So, come, all ye faithful. Come, joyful and triumphant. Let us adore our Christ...But beware your standard of who can come in worship. At Jesus’s own birth, it wasn’t the squeaky-clean, religious elites of biblical faith who bowed the knee in worship. Rather, they bowed their back, and it was the dirty pagans who streamed in to adore him.
2.  nObama Admin Slowed Red Tape to Avoid Backlash
Last fall, Heritage Foundation analysts noted an eerie silence coming from nObama regulatory agencies. The production of new rules, which until then had been in overdrive, slipped into a lower gear...And the regulatory agenda, which the Administration was required by law to release every spring and fall, did not appear. Noting the odd silence, Heritage research fellow Diane Katz speculated that the rules were being deliberately delayed until after the election year. nObama officials scoffed at such speculation. But, according to a report this weekend in The Washington Post, that is exactly what happened: “The motives behind many of the delays were clearly political, as nObama’s top aides focused on avoiding controversy before his reelection.” medium=email&utm_campaign=&utm_content=&utm_ source=heritagefoundation&utm_medium=email&utm_ content=headline&utm_ campaign=saturday131221
3. Why Trade Promotion Authority Is Wrong for the TPP
The nObama administration has asked Congress to reinstate trade promotion authority in hopes that it will enable passage of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP)...a trade agreement being negotiated by 12 countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Advocates of free trade generally support trade promotion authority, because it eases the passage of trade agreements through Congress by guaranteeing an up-or-down vote with no amendments. While trade promotion authority can be useful, the current political climate in Washington reduces its benefits, and the late stage of the TPP negotiations raises the risk that trade promotion authority will do more harm than good.

4. No 1st Amendment Rights For "Duck Dynasty" Star
A gaggle of pundits joined Sean Hannity on his show Thursday night and debated whether “Duck Dynasty”’s Phil Robertson had stepped over the great unseen line to insult the sensitivities of the LGBT, gays in general...and the newly forming army of last day’s reprobates in our nation of pop culture sleaze. Robertson has been canned for correctly paraphrasing the contents of a book in the Bible written to the church of Corinth by the Apostle Paul.
5. President brushes off ‘Lie of the Year’ award
President nObama brushed off Politifact's “Lie of the Year” designation Friday afternoon, insisting that “my intentions have been clear throughout” the healthcare reform process...The nonpartisan Politifact on Dec. 12 gave nObama its annual “Lie of the Year” award for his promise that if people liked their healthcare plans, they could keep them. That assurance proved false this year, as millions of people received cancellation notices from their healthcare providers amid the rollout of the nObamaCare exchanges.
6. Damage Control: nObamacare Repeal Will 'Cost too Much'
Over the last several weeks the nObama White House has been executing a media blitz meant to sell nObamacare to the nation—again...As the final maneuver in that plan, the President is releasing several reports on how nObamacare will affect the states. His message: repealing nObamacare will just be too expensive. However, it is a bit hard to understand how repealing the Affordable Care Act could cost more than the millions that is being inefficiently spent to enroll single applicants. Early in November, for instance, it was discovered that the five nObamacare enrollees for the District of Columbia cost the taxpayers a hefty $26.7 million each. Other states have seen similar waste, one source estimating that the cost for all enrollees nationwide had been $14,000 each.
7. Congress Quietly Passes Bigger & Badder 2014 NDAA
While everyone is distracted with the holiday festivities, Congress has been hard at work, screwing us over in the name of national security...Yesterday the 2014 National Defense Authorization Act was fast-tracked through the Senate, with no time for discussion or amendments. And you know, its Christmastime, so they just passed it so that they could recess for the holidays. The new version of the NDAA has already been quietly passed by the House of Representatives.
8. A&E set up interview scandal
Duck Dynasty’s Robertson family said they believe they were ‘’hung out to dry” by A&E, and that the events that have transpired since Phil Robertson’s notorious GQ interview were orchestrated by the network... “You have to ask yourself, why this interview happened and why it ever became public,” the family friend told Daily Mail. “Someone from A&E was there and was aware of the kind of answers Phil was giving. But despite that, they didn’t ever try to stop it or control it. Instead, they let it hit the headlines and then released a statement condemning it.” The source told Daily Mail that A&E knew what would happen after the interview went public, but let it happen in order to control Phil.
9. Dems pushing for comprehensive immigration reform
President nObama and his top Democrats on Capitol Hill appear to have reset their sights on the Republican-controlled House passing comprehensive immigration reform...instead of a step-by-step process, as lawmakers leave Washington for the Christmas holiday break. Though the House has yet to vote on any part of an immigrations bill, the chamber appears to be concerned first with securing the U.S.-Mexico border and not including a path to citizenship for some of the estimate 11 million illegal immigrants already in the United States.
10. nObamacare is awful for the middle class - NYT
The New York Times is starting to get a bit nervous about this health care law thing...So much so that they’re now gingerly starting to tell their readers what you and I already know: But – again – what’s happening to the Chapman is not a bug in the system. It is the system. The idea behind nObamacare’s health care ‘plan’ was to transfer wealth from the middle class to the poor, the healthy to the sick, and from the young to the old. It was simply couched as an ‘and everybody will have lower health care costs and better service!’ program because there was (and is!) no politically viable way to sell ‘higher premiums, higher deductibles, and fewer doctors’ to the middle class. And President nObama’s stop-gap measure of offering access to horrible insurance to make up for nObamacare taking away the perfectly fine insurance people already had isn’t really going to help matters either. Not in the country, not at the voting booth.
Fact is, Phil Robertson is Right -
David Whitley
"We all go six feet deep, in the ground. I think they're now digging them about four and a half feet to save money. But we all end up in a casket. People wipe their eyes, because we're gone. [Long pause] It's called… FACT." So goes the opening of a mini-documentary on the Robertson Duck Dynasty family called "I am second." The quoted text above is the voice of Phil Robertson declaring a biblical truth that says the wages of sin is death and no man escapes that reality, that truth, unless he has one amazingly awesome Friend. The entire video can be viewed on YouTube.
Fact. It's a word we don't seem to give serious thought to anymore. It seems opinions and feelings reign supreme.
Phil Robertson has come under fire recently unearthing a shovelful of liberal scorn for expressing in GQ magazine his biblical understanding that sexual immorality, specifically the homosexual lifestyle, is not in harmony with God's word. [1 Cor. 6:9-11] Liberals seem react to it all with the screech of a bird who has just had his cage rattled.
I am always amused when the debate turns its back on whether the controversy is factual or not, and goes off into the high grass, tackling the peripheral issues of "free speech" or "tolerance" or "equality" or whatever else cluttered thinkers devise to lead the distraction. What ever happened to right is right no matter what anyone else might think of it? What happened to the long held traditional view that what the Bible says is true, even if the whole world disagrees? It seems our intellectual discussions never seem to get that far -- to the meat of the controversy -- it just declares one the bad guy (Robertson) and the other (the LGBT community) victims. And who could possibly not side with victims?
And so the lies are allowed to win because when the game is called, they are the only ones left on the field of play.
A writer for the TIME web page "ideas" (Brandon Ambrosino, who is apparently gay himself,) wonders aloud on why the LGBT community continues to silence and dismiss those who claim homosexuality is a sin rather than engage them? Presumably to change their minds rather than to send them off to some colony for the politically incorrect.
Brandon acknowledges that the vast majority of those who watch Duck Dynasty, a record setting A&E cable show, would likely agree with the opinions of Phil Robertson, the father and mastermind of a duck call family business that has reaped millions in sales. But he thinks that a dialogue might have an impact in changing minds rather than fomenting enemies and long standing feuds. He is very likely correct. But that is how the left wins almost every cultural battle. They cast aside fact and truth and replace it with emotion. Emotion seems to win every time.
The writer queries whether the heterosexual view of homosexuals isn't simplistic and shallow. He tries to sum up Phil Robertson's misperception of homosexuals by calling it juvenile to think it can be boiled down to a “tooshie = bad, vagina = good” mentality. But hey, that is what it is, isn't it? People interested in platonic relationships are not wanting to get married or have a term "marriage" redefined from its only legitimate purpose and meaning -- "one man and one women." All children come into this world because of one man and one woman…fact, period. Never has a child been conceived by two men or two women, nor will they ever be, no matter how "loving" the couple might be to each other.
In his column Mr. Ambrosino assumes that the Robertson's of the world see this as a problem of "desire." But I can tell Mr. Ambrosino it isn't about desire or temptation or anything else; desire and temptation are not sins. The act of sodomy, that which makes homosexuality, homosexuality, that is what is a sin. The act is the definition of homosexuality. It's based on "sex" not love or commitment or anything else. That is the plain and simple truth.
The TIME writer appreciates, perhaps even admires, Pope Francis’ approach of holding the exact same viewpoint -- only Francis keeps it to himself. Rather he offers hope and mercy to the LGBT community. The Pope is kinder and gentler because he doesn't discuss it in public, he holds it as a personal conviction. The truth is the truth and if one is soft and gentle or even silent and one is fire and brimstone, it still remains the truth. Mr. Ambrosino seems to be saying it's okay to hold the view, just don't make it public, keep it to yourself. The truth helps no one if it isn't proclaimed for all to hear.
But what is it about Phil's view that the LGBT community dislikes? Is it the fact that it touches a nerve? Is it that the homosexual narrative is exposed as not being all about love and equality? Is it the fact that the LGBT campaign for sexual equality, same sex marriage and gay adoption are all perversions that they want to keep bound up and unspoken? Is it the fear that the public at large might actually stand up against sin and vile behavior and become opponents of the LGBT agenda rather than the passive spectators they have been for so long, lazily occupying the shadows on the sidelines of these political and spiritual battles?
I think they reject the simple fact that it is true! Gay sex, first and foremost, is against God's will. But in addition, it is unnatural and it is disgusting and it is unhealthy. Those are the facts!
No one seems to defend idolaters, adulterers, thieves, the greedy, drunks or swindlers, or for that matter, liars. But nearly everyone who defends homosexuality or pre-marital sexual immorality does so willingly with their own quiver of lies, easily identified as "context," "justification" and "rationalization." If Phil would have said lying is wrong, lying is a sin, lying is what bad people do, would that have gotten him kicked off the show? Would that have raised the ire of a portion of the American community? Of course not, because we don't yet have a group of people who want to be considered victims of the truth, the "fact" that lying is a sin and wrong and against God's will for us.
The left will defend the nonsense we hear and see under the guise of art, film or music -- where the anti-religious, anti-God crowd cheers the artistic expressions of those who would profane decency or place Jesus on a stick and submerge the fixture in a jar of urine and then defend it. Vile language and sexual themes are defended every day by the left.
The undiluted truth -- to those addicted or married to their sin -- is like fire or light or garlic to a vampire. It angers them. It hits deep. It presses on their tender conscience like poking a bruise. It makes them hiss and spit. It brings out the true essence of what is inside them. Apply pressure and the truth of what is inside will come pouring out. Squeeze an orange and you get orange juice. Simple truth, because that is the essence of an orange, that is what is inside. Apply the pressure of truth, with those comfortable with repulsive sin and vile behavior and what gushes forth is not tolerance and understanding, but rather viciousness and lies that calls bitter, sweet and evil, good.
When someone commits an act of evil (like shooting up a school yard), the left almost never calls it evil or even condemns the actions of the person, but rather seeks to find an outside influence(s) that may have caused the person to do what they did (or they blame the weapon). Yet when a conservative Christian speaks up, the left demands that they be condemned and that they must take full ownership of their words. Punishment or expulsion are the only acceptable decisions the left will allow. The left has no time for grace, let alone truth. No person or property was harmed in the expression of Phil Robertson's view. But the left has long forgotten that sticks and stones are what break bones and truths they refuse to hear only burn their ears and conscience in a figurative sense.
Another point worth making is that the views expressed by conservative Christians are generally not theirs, or at least not supposed to be theirs, but rather the echoing of Biblical truths, God's truths. These are God's laws and God's declarations, God's proclamations -- not the Phil Robertson's of the world. The left and those who find what Robertson said too rough, unsophisticated and offensive -- worthy of a public lynching -- need to remember, your issues are ultimately not with the Phil's of the world, they are with God. And that's a fact.

Skip and Suede

Thanks for the info and I do recall now what the Feds were doing - 'nothing' by the order of the WH. History is always correct unless its being changed to please the liars. Also very glad that we have records of history to show us and others that America is the best in the world. And we know that others are willing to destroy it. And we are please to be here in TX.

Skip thanks for the info. Rudy, welcome to Texas and I am do glad you left Washington and California. Trust me, you will put down roots.

I have a friend that was in a meeting in Dallas Tx. Two months ago with the Feds and they were told that any one on Federal pay will not stop any trucks or car with Mexico plates. They were agency's of the FBI,DHS, military CID, and CIA. Our government is turning our country over to the Mexican cartels and Muslim criminals to inter this country from the south and north and ports of entry. I was told by my friend that if Americans want to really stop this take over the only way would to teach the American people there real history. Our history has been changed over the years that our Founding Fathers were not Christians and that they were evil people just wanting to over through England. I asked him who has the best in put on our history that is true and can back up what they say he told me to get the set of DVDs by David Barton so I did and my wife and I watched the first one 90 minutes long but it was awesome we called our GOP local chairman and he came to our home and watched just 30 minutes and wanted to start to start showing them to the local church's and Christian schools along with our local schools. We called our state school superintendent and he told us that our state has open teaching on Christian classes and history. We order the complete set of 10 The American Heritage. It's hard to change something back to what we were if we don't know we're we came from these DVDs might be on YouTube I'm not sure but I bought them and I think it's a investment in my town state and the future of the youth and those that see them. How do the communist want to steal our freedoms from us by changing our history it time we stop talking with little knowledge and start educating ourselves and those that want our country and freedom.

You got to remember I just became a Texan this full year. I was previously from the state of Washington (6 years there). But before that I born and raised in California for 40 years. In fact, the rest the family of ours still live in that liberal state of California. Gov. Brown is making a mess and making it worse than before. You might say I am growing roots here in Texas. Thanks for allowing me being a part of this great state. I and the family will be going to Church every soon for Christmas service and won't be back 'til after 5.

Rudy, yes it is bad in Phoenix. Every time I have visited her, I see on the news that they take at least 95 illegals out of one house. Not to mention, they dump the kids out at Wal-Mart.
I know where McKinney is. My other sister lives at Springtown and strangely illegals are just now showing up there.
It is north of Ft. Worth.
Glad to talk to a fellow Texan.

I can imagine it. We live North of Dallas. McKinney, TX. Pass thru Phoenix on the way to Texas. Its also ingrained as well.

Comment by Suede on December 24, 2013 at 3:41pm
Rudy, yes I am only a few hundred miles from three different entry points, but to see the people in my town, you would think I live in Mexico.
Where are you? My sister lives in Phoenix and it is worse there.

Comment by Rudy on December 24, 2013 at 3:38pm

Oh boy, that's right you are in TX and you are closer to the border than I am.

Comment by Suede on December 24, 2013 at 3:34pm
I used to see those Mexico trucks in Texas. They sure looked unsafe and they did not get inspected. There used to be vulcanized rubber off their tires all over I-20. They still vulcanize tires over there.

Comment by Rudy on December 24, 2013 at 3:19pm

Yes, Seattle has a port and so does Los Angeles. (I should say ,LA county). Also heard away back about Mexican trucks that are crossing the borders didn't get inspected. But not sure if that was being done. This is happening and being done by liberals in government changing the law that we the people depend on to secure our country.
