Standing against big government and for the people!
Mary and I flew from Florida to Alexandria, Minnesota where I was the keynote speaker and entertainer (singer) at their “Rally for America”. As we approach another anniversary of the 9/11attacks, I caught segments of various 9/11 documentaries on TV in the hotel room.
I was struck by numerous stories of bravery and self-less acts of courage by our fellow Americans. A twenty-four year old man led a group of fellow employees to safety. He went back into one of the twin towers to rescue more, never to be seen again.
A survivor spoke of the look in the eyes of a fireman going up the stairwell as he passed him going down. The survivor said he felt the fireman knew he was possibly going to his death. And yet, he was speedily taking two steps at a time up the stairs.
I heard about a white man in one of the towers who upon hearing cries for help, pulled a brown man through a wall to safety. They both survived and have become life long friends. The incidents of Americans rising to the challenge on 9/11 are many. Some we will never know.
But there was a group of Americans on 9/11 who for the most part were ignored. I am talking about “the jumpers”. These people, like responsible adults, simply showed up for work on 9/11. Suddenly, they found themselves in an unimaginably horrific situation, having to decide whether to be consumed in an inferno or leap to their deaths. Dear Lord!
Early after the 9/11 attacks, our liberal politically correct media put an “unofficial” ban on showing “the jumpers” in their coverage. Careful not to fuel American outrage, our media is always sympathetic to America's enemies.
Like most Americans, I remember where I was and what I was doing on 9/11. I came out of the bathroom draped in a towel after a failed attempt to take a shower, “Honey, there's no water!” “Sorry”, Mary replied. “I forgot to pay the bill.” So, there I was annoyed because I had to drive two miles to drop a check off to the water company. That was my biggest “issue” of the day.
Meanwhile, my fellow Americans were forced to decide whether to burn or jump.
Witnesses saw a young woman high up in one of the towers at a window as flames raged behind her. She made the sign of the cross and did a swan dive out of the window.
Ponder that image when you hear liberal Democrats, Progressives and Obama's pastor of twenty years, Jeremiah Wright, say we got what we deserved on 9/11.
Innocent Americans simply showed up for work. Remember, the jumpers.

Comment by Robert Schumacker on September 12, 2012 at 9:09am I also will always remember where I was on the horrific day, since I was INSIDE the World Trade Center(I was sitting at my desk on the 58th floor of the south tower when the kamikaze struck the building)! One of the most horrible memories that I have from that day(and I sure have plenty of horrible memories to choose from) was the blood curdling scream from one of my coworkers as she happened to be looking out the window, and she witnessed someone jumping! I will never forget that sound for the rest of my life! And, I will never be the man that I was on September 10th 2001...
Comment by Michelle Sites on September 12, 2012 at 3:34am I have video tapes of the first few days, I taped hrs and hrs. We also have copies of every magazine and newspaper that came out during that week, we knew one day it would be worth some money as part of history(sad, but true, like JFK). We want to pass it on to our kids, who at the time were aware of it...2 in elementary school, but too young to really understand it, a toddler, one was an infant and the youngest wasn't even planned. momof5shortstuff
Comment by Mark on September 11, 2012 at 10:28pm I don't think anyone of this generation will ever forget, but I also think Lloyd has hit on a very important point. That being: The mainstream media has sanitized most of what we see of 9-11.
While videos of the planes going into the buildings, and the pictures and video of the burning buildings themselves, that we've seen over and over, are painfully disturbing, you will never see the real horrors that were captured that day on the mainstream media.
Lloyd mentioned the jumpers. There are videos of some of those people leaping to their deaths. There are also videos of them after they died. You won't see those either. Maybe they are available somewhere on the net. I don't know. I don't wish to see them. But the suject at hand is the mainstream media.
I do know they exist because there was a brief time, maybe 24 to 48 hours after the event, when the chaos of the event was still unfolding, and media editors and producers were stretched beyond capacity and may not have reviewed everything with as great a scrutiny as when a calmer time permitted, that some of them did make it to the airwaves, if only once before they were removed.
But again, the point is that the media will not show them, because they know that if what they have in their vaults ever was shown, it would enrage the American people even further. The pictures and videos we've all seen have been chosen for us to see. Freedom of the press sometimes also means cencorship via the press.
The media obviously can't ignore the story, but they do have the ability to sanitize it. And that is exactly what they've done.
Comment by Robert Varner on September 11, 2012 at 8:28pm Lets's call it what it is, a cult. Any organization that endorses killing unbelievers is a cult. The definition I found states the following. Cult, a religious movement whose beliefs or practices are considered abnormal. Is it normal to believe that it is ok to kill those who don't believe as you do. In their mind....yes it is. We as Americans are infidels. An infidel is defined as, "one without faith." In their case we ( the infidels) don't believe in their "faith" so we should be made to not exist. Islam is a cult plain and simple. It is no different then any other cult that has come and gone. The fact that this one is still here and our elected leader belongs to it is criminal. The insane side of this scenario is that he was elected.
Comment by Gloria Wedemeyer on September 11, 2012 at 7:42pm That was the most devasting part of 9/11 to me. When I saw things coming from the top of the building, I didn't realize they were jumpers and couldn't get that image out of my mind of days. My husband, who is a retired FF did the same thing on a fire, he dove out of a 3rd floor window and luckily there was a ladder there that saved his life. He said when the heat and fire get to intense, you just want to get out of there. The other image that mean't so much to me was watching the FF go up when everyone else was going down. It was emotion, not only because my husband had been a FF but just how brave they were and what a trek it must have been for them with all that heavy equipment. I will never forget 9/11 as long as I live. I was a baby when Pearl Harbor was bombed, so it didn't have that much impact on me. But to see the suffering of all those brave people on America's soil being killed for absolutely no reason. And we were so blessed with all those first responders, policemen, firemen and volunteers who worked endlessly for days. God bless the USA
Comment by Gabrielle Aplin on September 11, 2012 at 7:26pm My husband was over there for 2 weeks with the Red Cross about a month after the attacks. I had the opportunity to go over there at the tail end of his service. How somber it was to stand on the top of the Empire State Building and look across at the waving flag of Ground zero. God bless those who lost loved ones on that tragic day.
Comment by robert oyler on September 11, 2012 at 5:19pm yeah i guess calling muslims animals is an insult to animals. your right Marlies, they are demons possesed by the demons of hell and satan himself.
Comment by Mary Allen on September 11, 2012 at 4:27pm It was a very difficult day and those old enough to remember it will be engraven on their minds even throughout the year. However, I don't believe all jumped. Many were blowen out of the windows. Those who went to be with the Lord are in a better place even though they are still missed. One of the men in one plane worked in my office and left a wife and two small childen. Our corporate office put together an ongoing memorial for his children to go to college or other expenses if needed. We need to pray for those who lost their loved ones, friends and associates.
Comment by Marlies on September 11, 2012 at 4:16pm Sorrry about the typos. Please don't call them animals. Animals would never do such a thing. They only kill for food. These creatures are not human. They are demons. The are primitive savages. I lived in Israel for three years and saw how these creatures act.
Comment by Marlies on September 11, 2012 at 4:14pm I have relatives in Germany and they showed the "jumpers" over there. They said it was horrible and could barely believe their eyes. Yes we have to be so politically correct. Let everyone see that the "Religion of Peace" doesn't give a hoot about how horrible their atrocities are. Show it all and let the world know that these were Muslims and keep repeating that and maybe people will start to understand that murder is a part of the "religon of peace" "Allah" demands that if you are and infidel (Jewish, Christian or anything but a Muslim), if you won't convert you will be killed. We are living in very dangerous times as long as this "relgion" is allowed ot exist. I wish we could just throw them out of the western world. They don't belong here, they belong in hell. It kills me when I see those "coexist" bumper stickers. It's never going to happen because those demons won't let it. They want us all to be either killed or converted. Case closed
