Standing against big government and for the people!
For anyone who thinks Obama cares a squat about this country consider this. He was perfectly happy with the price at the pump going up because he believes we should be paying the same price as Europeans. He refused to grant leases for more production in this country even to the point of being in contempt of a court order. He started a war with Libya without Congressional approval saying that Europe was in charge and now the Paris based IEA tells him to release our strategic reserves because the war in Libya has disrrupted the European supply. Libya only provides a small amount of the US oil but we have to provide half of the European loss 60million barrels. The question is why is our country fighting for European oil?

Elections have consequences. This is what happens when your president considers Europe more important than America

Comment by peter hicks on June 25, 2011 at 10:11pm The stalling of drilling permits and lack of access to Federal Lands is an attempt at social engineering designed to force change in the American way of life. We should ride scooters and live in the dark. Kenya?
And, under no circumstances, play golf.
The release of oil from the SPR is political and intended to fool the dolts who elected him into thinking that this narcissistic asshole b****** actually cares whether they live or die.

Comment by TJZ on June 25, 2011 at 9:54pm Another question...terrible fires are consumming thousands of acres of US land. Has Obama done anything about it other than play golf? Floods are ravaging the northern plains...anything being done to help? No. I don't see him doing a damn thing.
I seem to remember all the fuss about Bush taking three days before he responded to hurricane Katrina.
Comment by peter hicks on June 25, 2011 at 9:44pm The SPR in the U.S. was created in order to provide relief in times of shortages or National (read: USA) Emergencies, such as war and catastrophic natural disasters.
The IAE was created primarily to provide relief to Europe, like we gave them in WWI and WWII. If it were not for the U.S., they'd be speaking German. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Europe....My Grandparents came from there.
But one must agree that the United States, over time, has come from an unprecedented experiment in Democracy to become the most unique, powerful (militarily and economically) and generous melting pot on the face of the Earth. We are unparalled in our freedoms, liberties and standard of living. In this regard, We have a Country that is the envy of all others, as evidenced by the numbers trying to come here still. And We worked hard to make it that way.
Now you have to love this Country in order to desire and strive to preserve and advance it's greatness. If you already have the greatest Country on Earth, why would you want to bring it down to the level of "wannabes"?
What would it benefit the World for America to be less than Great? What would become of our foreign aid, disaster relief, military peace-keeping missions, medical and food exports?
The U.S. is responsible for the development of 95% of the new drugs and cures, and always has been. Technologically, no one comes close.
Therefore, unless someone is embarking on a mindless, debilitating and socialist social engineering agenda seeking to excoriate and destroy the greatness of Our United States, it defy's reason an is in and of itself, TRAITOROUS.

Comment by TJZ on June 25, 2011 at 6:46pm There are twenty eight nations involved in the IEA. The US is only one, yet we have to give half of the oil needed? Why don't we supply 1/28th. Obama said we should be paying the same as Europeans. The IEA which is in Paris said the US would release 30 million barrels to offset the shortage from the war in Libya. We don't get oil from Libya Europe does. So we're giving 30 million barrels of oil to Europe.
The quote is not to relieve the high cost of domestic gasoline but to add 30 million barrels to the global oil supply to stablize the global oil market. How do you read that
