Judging somebody else's motives is dicey one can not see into the heart of another. Take for example somebody who picks up an item laying outside and locks it in the back of "his" car - covered up from view. Lets assume the item is something that would clearly not be his, lets also assume the item can be identified as belonging to an address down the street.
