Dear Fellow Mississippi Resistnet Members:

I have just recently rejoined Resistnet after an absence of approximately a year. The reasons for my absence are of no consequence to current members of Resistnet. I remained state director until the “Peter Principle” kicked in and, as a result, I disappeared for the last year. During my absence, I remained in contact with both Darla and Mellie from time to time. It was the result of a recent conversation with Darla that I decided to rejoin Resistnet.

Now that I am back, I am really disappointed to see the Mississippi state group is essentially non functional. Rik Brookes the state director stepped down for personal reasons and there is only one district coordinator (Helen dist. 4). We have over 600 Mississippi members surely we can find dynamic administrators for this site and activate it again. I call on all members getting this communication to consider volunteering for one of these positions.

I have been asked off the record to consider becoming the State Director again, and I am thinking about it. All group leaders are only as good as the membership. We can get this site active again, but the membership needs to step up. Being active is the only way we can have any kind of political power. It will not happen if everyone waits for someone else to make things happen. Let’s see how many of you are willing become active and make something happen. No one can make this an active dynamic site without active dynamic members willing to get out and work to grow Resistnet. Mississippi. How about it, is there any movers and shakers out there?

Sorry for my slow response. I'm not very computer savvy. Any chance you braved last night's storms and came to Tea Party in Pearl last night? Near twohundred did! Discussed the great DC event And, worked on plans for future and continued success.
