I have an Android which I rooted months ago, the phone works much better than it did and also has more options for customization and configuring it. I have the ability to shut down all GPS signals and other features on the fly.

Considering I speak with friends about patriotic matters, I prefer to know my phone is not watching/recording me when I do so.

Monica is correct about removing the battery to ensure your phone is not watching you.

Regarding tracking. They can track cell phones off but not with battery out. I am not 100% sure, but these new driver's licenses I believe are trackable by satallite even though they don't have a battery. Also some cops can scan your license plate and know if you have a gun permit, etc. You can wrap all that with aluminum foil to prevent tracking. Of course, you can't get any calls while "foiled up."

I'm listening to Oblunder talking on the capture of Osama Bin Laden.  Indeed he is taking all the credit, as if he was the one who shot him.  Every other word is I, par for a narcist.

I don't like this format, so won't blog....

Oh Teresa,

I too am a Christian first, but we have been fed water downed Christianity by pastors and churches that want us to be docile little sheep and do nothing but follow. I came to the conclusion that I was so spiritial that I wasn't any earthly good. God has given us a free will to love and follow Him--not to follow man or bow down to him either. What good are we dead and not fighting against the evil we know is coming? People's souls depend on us standing in the gap! Pray and put on your armour girl! The battle is the Lords but He is going to use those who are willing. Love enough to fight against the powers of darkness!

They can track you up to five feet! Don't believe otherwise! All cell phones have a microphone or back door built in the phone since 1989. The government asked the cell phone companies to build a cell phone with the capacity to be turned on and off by our government. Police officers are now downloading all your information when stopped for a speeding violation.  In theory it sounds good, lost child, a parent with alzheimer, an accident or emergency, but is it worth giving up your freedoms when you know that it's our governments plan to rule you? I think not. We did just fine in the 50's without them and I don't need the government to watch over me even though I haven't done anything wrong.

They can only track you to the nearest relay tower. Not to your exact location. That means if you are using your phone and engaged in nefarious activities, be afraid but not too because they need more proof than just that you were in the vicinity.  However, question whether your children need to be tracked or your spouse or even your aged parents who are very forgetful perhaps......

I have nothing to hide - however should the government turn into a full scale dictatorship and decide to confiscate asset either as investments or property - they might be using this technology together with restricting passport access to keep us virtual prisoners under their rule. Do not think this cannot happen

I try to live my life as a Christian not afraid to have God know where I am at any time. If I have to worry about someone knowing where I am, I am in the wrong place!

If you take the battery out of the phone can they track you?
Comment by Rita Blackmon on April 27, 2011 at 7:59pm
They also have a smart meter on my electricity. They will probably roast me this summer. But it will also trap my car in the garage when they cut the power. That is going to make me find an attorney.

Still have 22 months on this contract and I sure am mad about this disgusting behavior.

Comment by Dave Newbry on April 27, 2011 at 4:15pm
When my present contract expires, I may just reactivate my Razr phone. It works but has the old technology in it. The other thing I may do is turn my phone off unless I need to use it. You need to contact me, you may have to wait 'til I get home. I do have voice mail on my land line. If I can't opt out of nonstop tracking, I'll just turn the tracking device off.

I think these phone companies are working with Obama and all the other commies in the white house to strip us of our freedom and liberty. Obama and his commie thugs all hate america, they praise all dicktators around the world. They will not be happy until capatalism is dead, and every person is jobless, the funny thing about this is if everyone is out of work who is going to pay their salaries?

I agree on the issue of privacy! The old way is better, I agree with Janet Trimm.

Comment by Janet Trimm on April 27, 2011 at 1:33pm
I don't use one.  I think my tv chip and my computer are enough!  to blazes with technology.  I'm happy doing things the old way.  Takes longer but is safer and less intrusive.  I'm sick of the crap that goes on in the world; so much so, my only news source is here and my only occupation today (I'm retired widow) is here and  hoping to educate more people about the awful condition we find our Land of Liberty in.  And I have been doing this every since taking courses in Constitutional Studies in the 70's.  I am happy to see this site's dedication to waking up the people.  I am thrilled I am not the solitary voice any more.

Tom, I agree with you except they are storing the information. There is no need to store the information long term in order to provide you with roaming abilities.
Comment by Bonnie Parmenter on April 27, 2011 at 12:48pm
Sorry Phil, but I disagree.  Both are not acceptable but smart phone is much more invasive than smart meter.
