What is the Patriot Action Network?

PANetwork is the official social network of Grassfire Nation. PANetwork is a place where citizens can resist -- in a peaceful, patriotic way -- the efforts to move our nation away from our heritage of individual liberties toward “brave new world” of collectivism. PANetwork is designed to give citizens a new level of networking resources to organize the Tea Party Movement/Conservative Movement.

What is Grassfire Nation?

Grassfire Nation is a networking website that serves more than one million grassroots conservatives across the nation. For the past decade the word “Grassfire” has come to symbolize cutting edge grassroots conservative online citizen networking. Now the legacy of “Grassfire” continues through Grassfire Nation — a division of Grassroots Action, a privately-held Internet activism services organization that provides news, information and grassroots activism services to individuals and organizations. We seek to provide a wide array of services to the Grassfire Nation so YOU can take action. These services include petitions, resources and practical ways for you to take a stand on key issues of our day. Our goal is to provide information and resources to grassroots conservatives so you can expand your impact. Through the Grassfire Nation, our singular focus in on YOU -- the grassroots conservative. What are the goals of Patriot Action Network?

PANetwork is designed to be the social networking platform for Grassfire Nation and citizens who oppose the the rising tide of socialism. This platform is designed to provide a place for grassroots conservative citizen-patriots to network and develop strategies and action items to restore nation to limited government.

What is the "No Tolerance" policy?

Every PANetwork member is required to consent to a "No Tolerance" policy which states:
I affirm that PANetwork/ResistNet is for principled, patriotic resistance to Barack Obama's ideology and agenda and is not a forum for personal attacks, lewd or profane language, or militancy against Barack Obama or others. As such, I accept PANetwork's/ResistNet's strict No Tolerance policy and will not make inappropriate postings. I understand that such postings will be removed and members responsible will be banned without further notice. I also will report such postings to the site administrator.

What is the specific plan for the Patriotic Resistance?

We believe our plan to "Resist, Rebuild, Restore" provides the broad framework around which to build a Patriotic Resistance that can, in the long term, turn back the move toward statism. This broad structure is like an endoskeleton (an internal structure) which will allow the Patriotic Resitance to grow and develop organically as opposed to an exoskeleton which would limit growth. Thus, we are currently focusing on Resisting because we believe a firm, patriotic resistance will cause a broad coalition of grassroots Americans to unite around a common goal of stopping the statist agenda. From this newfound unity, we will rebuild and restore. The Resistance, if done properly,  will create the structure and foundation for rebuilding the conservative movement and restoring constitutional leadership to our society.

Here on ResistNet, our goal is to give concerned citizens both a forum for ideas and a practical way to get involved. Ideally, anyone who is willing to invest their time in advancing this patriotic, idea-based resistance to this new wave of socialism would be able to contribute through ResistNet. As we see a need, we will create volunteer "jobs" and post those on our Job Board. Those jobs will generally fall into two categories: assisting in developing the content of the site or assisting in developing the State Groups which are the backbone of our network.

Already, the Resistance is developing. Hundreds of thousands are signing the Patriotic Resistance petition. Tens of thousands are joining together on ResistNet. State and issue groups are forming. Currently, these efforts are in their embryonic stages. Be patient. Focus on the broad goals. And let's keep working together.

Is the Patriot Action Network working with other similar efforts?

PANetwork desires to be a platform for any and all patriotic conservatives to network, share information and mobilize. Thus, PANetwork is in no way limited to those who are part of Grassfire Nation. In fact, we often feature the efforts of organizations who are working to turn back the tide of statism.

What is the best way for me to help?

PANetwork is organized around State Groups. These State Groups are the structural frame around which we can communicate and take action. Each State Group page is organized like its own mini social network with the ability to provide custom resources and social networking tools. Step One is to join your State Group. Network within this group. You can even become one of the administrators for your state group. Second, check our our Volunteer Job Board if you would like a more formal role. Third, please help us maintain the ideals of the site (see the "No Tolerance" policy). Report abusers to ADMIN. Also, be patient! PANetwork is growing rapidly. We will have growing pains.

Who pays for the expenses of Patriot Action Network?

PANetwork is operated by Grassroots Action. We will provide opportunities for those who want to financially support this website.

How do I stop all the Patriot Action Network emails?

You control the amount of emails you receive. Click on "Settings" in the top of the right column, then "email" in the left column of your settings. Simply check (or check off) the email notifications you want and do not want to receive. We encourage every member to keep "Messages sent to the whole network" checked so that you will receive important updates from PANetwork on breaking news.

Can I volunteer to be a content provider or moderator?

Every member of PANetwork is encouraged to be a content provider through your own page, your blog, discussion forums and taking part in groups. PANetwork has special Volunteer Jobs for people who want to be official content providers or help moderate the site. Visit the Job Board for details.

How do I change my email address?

You can change your email address by performing the following. First, click on "settings" in the top of the right hand column. Once in the settings you click change email address. Then type in your desired email address.

How do I change my screen name?

You can change your screen name by performing the following. First, click on “settings” in the top of the right hand column. Once in the settings, you click on your name and delete it. Then you type in your desired screen name.

Is there a mobile version of Patriot Action Network?

Yes. You can access a limited version of PANetwork designed for quick presentation on your mobile or smart phone. Simply go to ResistNet.com/m

I'm on dial-up. Is there a text-only version of Patriot Action Network?

No, but you may want to try the mobile version if your Internet access is extremely slow. The mobile version does not include all the elements of PANetwork but it will give you access in a low-graphics mode. Go to ResistNet.com/m. Since PANetwork is highly dependent on the virtual tools of the Internet, you may want to consider securing high-speed Internet access.

How do I make "live links" in my posts and blogs?

To make a live link, simply highlight the text you want to be a link and click on the "chain" icon in the toolbar. A url window will appear. Type or paste the appropriate url in the window and click OK. Done!
