The right to health care will lead to a right to BAD healthcare.

The United States' health care system was once the envy of the world. The very best doctors and hospitals provided the best affordable patient care and thousands of private charities provided health care services for the poor. The ever-increasing participation of the government and third party payers have taken decision making away from doctors and patients and eliminated the free market aspect of our health care system. Unfortunately, Obama's answer to the healthcare crisis further cripples the market and creates a universal healthcare entitlement that will undermine quality of care and access. Help Resist statist healthare.

SEBELLIUS USES "DONATIONS" TO DEFY CONGRESS ON OBAMACARE IMPLEMENTATION

Sarah Cliff writes in the Washington Post:

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius has gone, hat in hand, to health industry officials, asking them to make large financial donations to help with the effort to implement President Obama's landmark health-care law, two people familiar with the outreach said.

Her unusual fundraising push comes after Congress repeatedly rejected the Obama administration's requests for additional funds to set up the Affordable Care Act, leaving HHS to implement the president's signature legislative accomplishment on what officials have described as a shoestring budget.

LAWSUIT; OBAMACARE VIOLATES 5TH AMENDMENTS "TAKINGS CLAUSE", HARMS SMALL BUSINESS

The 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act radically hikes small-business costs, impoverishes states and violates the plain language of the U.S. Constitution, claims a lawsuit filed Tuesday in Houston, Texas.

Steven F. Hotze, a Katy-based allergist and immunologist, says the Affordable Care Act, popularly called Obamacare, forces his wellness center to pay enormous costs for its 73 employees. His suit challenges the law on three main grounds.

Hotze’s lawsuit claims that by forcing Americans to buy private insurance, Obamacare violates the Fifth Amendment’s Takings Clause, which holds that private property can only be taken for a “public use” and with just compensation for the property owner.

ObamaCare is once more being taken to court. Unlike previous lawsuits, which challenged the Affordable Care Act (ACA) itself, this suit, coordinated by the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI), contests the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) interpretation of a key provision of the law — an interpretation the plaintiffs say unfairly subjects more individuals and employers to the ACA’s mandates.

“The IRS rule we are challenging is at war with the Act’s plain language and completely rewrites the deal that Congress made with the states on running these insurance exchanges,” said Michael Carvin, partner at Jones Day, who is representing the plaintiffs in the lawsuit. (Carvin previously co-argued the ObamaCare cases before the Supreme Court.)

The left is lashing out at a proposal to reform Medicare that President Obama said he would consider as a way to reduce the deficit.

Left-leaning groups and liberal lawmakers say that combining Medicare’s doctor and hospital coverage would saddle beneficiaries with higher costs. The idea has attracted support from leading Republicans, and given Obama’s receptiveness, the policy could receive significant attention in the next round of deficit-reduction talks.

This is exactly what senior advocates fear, and they are launching pre-emptive strikes on Capitol Hill to ensure lawmakers understand the downside.

The sharing of Americans’ health information is set to explode in coming years, with millions of patients’ medical records converted to electronic form and analyzed by health-care providers, insurers, regulators and researchers.

That has prompted concerns over privacy—and now, new federal rules that aim to give patients more control over their information are posing technical and administrative problems for the doctors and hospitals that have to implement them.

Information-technology experts say the challenges illustrate how difficult it may be to protect sensitive patient information as digitization of the health-care industry expands.

The least comforting part of this article is the fact that private information might be shared “inadvertently” whether you’ve paid cash and requested privacy or not.
