This will be your last chance to contact your Senators and The Senators Listed Below. Please Take The Time To Do It Now. Phone, Email, Fax, or All Three. This False Legislation Has To Be Stopped.
URGENT MESSAGE FROM NUMBERSUSA 05/21/13
Urgent Action For Amnesty Legislation S. 744
anne manetas
Amnesty Vote Tomorrow: Call your Senator Today
Dear NumbersUSA members who oppose amnesty and major immigration increases,
You are part of our first line of defense against amnesty and 33 million work permits for foreign job seekers over the next 10 years and your help is needed this week. You have a Senator(s) on the Senate Judiciary Committee that will vote on S. 744 tomorrow, Wednesday, May 22.
Please phone your Senator TODAY
800-843-6735
All you have to say is something like:
"My name is _______ from ________. I'm calling to ask the Senator to please vote NO on S. 744 when the Judiciary Committee votes on final passage this week."
[Note: We are using a new phone system to avoid many of the busy signals you have experienced in recent campaigns and to ensure that your calls get through. You will be prompted to enter your zip code when you call. This will make sure you are directed to your two Senators. You will find the list of Judiciary Committee members below. If you live in Minnesota, Texas or Utah, both of your Senators are on the Committee. Otherwise, select your Senator listed below when prompted.]
======================
EVERY CALL MATTERS
======================
About half of you receiving this alert have a Senator who has already decided to vote in favor of this bill in committee. In fact, it is almost
certain that the bill will be passed by the Judiciary Committee. But
your phone call is still critically important.
Today's phone calls are about setting the stage for the fight on the
Senate floor. While a few champions have emerged in opposition to this bill, most Senators are sitting back and waiting to take a position on this bill until they absolutely have to. That time is near. As soon as
S. 744 is reported out of the Judiciary Committee, the clock will start
counting down toward a Senate floor vote in just a few weeks.
The 82 Senators who are not part of the Judiciary Committee are paying close attention to the level of noise that is created over this week's vote. If they hear from their Judiciary Committee colleagues and others that the vote went virtually unnoticed by constituents, many Senators who are on the fence will be led to believe they can get away with supporting amnesty and immigration increases with little constituent push-back. If, on the other hand, word gets out that even the Members who voted in favor of the bill heard resounding opposition from their constituents, it will be much scarier for other Senators to make a vote against the wishes of the voters in their state.

Comment by Kathryn McEwen on May 16, 2013 at 1:39am Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) entered a letter from law enforcement officials nationwide warning of the dangers of the immigration bill S.744 into the judiciary committee record today.
The letter To Congress from the National Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Council of the American Federation of Government Employees Affiliated with AFL-CIO warns of the discretionary power the bill gives to “political appointees” and takes away from law enforcers:
“Congress can and must take decisive steps to limit the discretion of political appointees and empower ICE and CBP to perform their respective missions and enforce the laws enacted by Congress. Rather than limiting the power of those political appointees within DHS, S. 744 provides them with nearly unlimited discretion, which will serve only to further cripple the law enforcement missions of these agencies.”
They warn that the Senate immigration bill gives DHS Sec. Janet Napolitano “virtually unlimited discretion to waiver” prohibitions on obtaining legal status, such as criminal activity or previous deportation:

@Kathryn McEwen...I do agree with you...but this will never happen...like Obama said "he will side with the Muslims" and the way it looks so would 90% of our government...any crimes commited by illegals aren't allowed to be shown to the public...they don't want to alarm the public...in my area there are walking tattoos working as garderners...
I reported to the FBI a location where 20 or more Muslims were living, all males...thye FBI on the phone screamed at me and asked me what did I expect him to do...before he hung up he told me to call 911 and tell them...I didn't...
Comment by Kathryn McEwen on May 11, 2013 at 4:06am @whtetiger...we need to freeze Muslim immigration...we'll never find all the illegals, but we need to deport the ones we find, and watch the legal Muslims.
Comment by Kathryn McEwen on May 11, 2013 at 4:03am The Judiciary Committee markup of S. 744 exposed the Gang of Eight legislation as an amnesty-first bill. Given multiple opportunities to vote on amendments that would require concrete enforcement before illegal aliens could apply for legal status and work permits, the bill's sponsors voted "no." At the same time... they sent their chief spokesman, Sen. Rubio to Fox News to deceive the public.
So much for Sen. Rubio's promises regarding enforcement first, or for that matter enforcement... period. There will be no effective enforcement in the new bill, even the Gang of 8 are voting against amendments offered that put teeth and enforcement into their immigration bill... The Gang of 8's promise that the bill would put enforcement first is nothing but a smoke screen for another PURE amnesty bill without real enforcement.

Comment by Kathryn McEwen on May 10, 2013 at 2:14pm A bloc of 12 pro-immigration senators blocked a GOP amendment to freeze the proposed legalization of 11 million illegals until the border is secured, highlighting a fundamental political divide on the first day of voting on the far-reaching Senate immigration bill.
“The bill is … legalization first and enforcement later, and just opposite what the people think they’re getting, and opposite to what many members of Congress think is in the bill before us,” said Sen. Chuck Grassley, the leading Republican on the Senate’s Judiciary Committee.
The defeat, however, gives critics an obvious argument during national debates over the immigration bill. Numerous polls show strong public demand for a secure border with Mexico.
