Senators Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio both have parents that know of Fidel Castro’s atrocities. That didn’t stop either man from praising close Castro comrade, Nelson Mandela.
Ben Barrack talks about this and more on today’s show:
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) is of Cuban descent. His father fled the brutal dictatorship of Fidel Castro. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) is of Cuban descent as well. His parents fled Cuba before Castro came to power but the could never return thereafter. In essence, the parents of both men know the evil Castro wrought. To this day, the both preach against the communist ideology.
That is why it is so inexplicable to see both of these men lower the bar for political correctness by heaping praise on the now deceased Nelson Mandela, a man who had great reverence for Castro.
In a statement after Mandela’s death, Cruz said:
“Nelson Mandela will live in history as an inspiration for defenders of liberty around the globe. He stood firm for decades on the principle that until all South Africans enjoyed equal liberties he would not leave prison himself, declaring in his autobiography, ‘Freedom is indivisible; the chains on any one of my people were the chains on all of them, the chains on all of my people were the chains on me.’ Because of his epic fight against injustice, an entire nation is now free.
“We mourn his loss and offer our condolences to his family and the people of South Africa.”
Like Cruz, Rubio conveyed praise for Mandela:
“The world has lost one of history’s most important figures, though Nelson Mandela’s example will live on for generations to come. Men and women striving for justice and fairness around the world have drawn inspiration from Nelson Mandela, and he showed South Africans and the entire world what the power of forgiveness truly means and can accomplish. My wife Jeanette and I send our condolences to the Mandela family and to the people of South Africa.”
When the facebook pages of both Cruz and Rubio became flooded with comments from people who had a problem with these statements, the mainstream media took the opportunity to further attempt to paint conservatives as extremists because even the ‘extreme’ Tea Party Senators Cruz and Rubio expressed appreciation for Mandela.
During the program, Barrack plays clips from a documentary that includes audio of a meeting in a hotel room between Mandela and Castro.
I find that interesting.
Now we honor "Commies"?.....Fly our flags a half staff for a "Commie"? But the returning Vets, and those Tea Party types may be terrorists? This Country is very sick, and we need to heal it...now.
Well, I guess everyone will make a dumb@$$ statement some time. I wish that they had paid mandella the same respect that b.o. paid the great lady of England, Margret Thatcher. It'll take time for conservatives to forgive and forget this breach of sanity.
'dumbazz' statement doesn't cut it. It is indicative of a CORE VALUE problem.
That bothers me.
Bothers me too.
This bears watching. Anyone following Communism is a no go for America's future.
Rubio already showed his colors on the Immigration amnesty issue.
Now, it is up to Cruz to either provide additional comment or join the NO GO /Vote NO list.
Most everyone thinks of Mandela only as an anti-apartheid crusader. Most every politician who wants re-election will have to play to that perception or face an all-consuming fire-storm from the all too familiar places.
That is no excuse. Any congressperson should have the intelligence to read up on people whose mantra they are supporting. Selling out to the detractors is how we got into the terrible current situation.
These are supposed to be our Best and Brightest, no the dimmest of the uninformed.
Even if only a tiny aspect of the 'anti-apartheid crusader' is supported. The Congressman bears the responsibility to define exactly what and why they are speaking out. None of them is too bashful to speak up.
NO, they could have been wise and said NOTHING about Comrade Mandella!
I agree with those that are troubled by this. I wonder what Cruz's and Rubio's parents have to say about this!
May God have mercy on an amoral Amerika!
Viva Cristo Rey!
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,

What's this? I'd say this is what adds to the confusion of an already demented political system. And further proves that the word of God is always right. Psalm 40:4, " How blessed is the man who has made the Lord his trust." This is the same kind of flip flopping nonsense that hurt Romney's campaign efforts, and is destroying the Republican party. It leaves us wondering, who can we trust.
