Bob Turner, Republican candidate, holds 6-point lead over Democrat David Weprin in NY-9 race

More bad news for Democrats across the country, and worse news for Congressional hopeful David Weprin: GOP candidate Bob Turner is pulling ahead in the race to fill ex-Rep. Anthony Weiner’s House seat.

One day before New York voters head to the polls in Tuesday’s special election, a new Public Policy Polling survey shows Turner leading Weprin 47% to 41%.

“If Republicans win this race on Tuesday it’s real-world evidence of how unpopular Barack Obama is right now,” said PPP President Dean Debnam. “Approval polls are one thing, but for the GOP to win in a heavily Democratic district like this would send a strong message about how unhappy voters are.”

A Siena poll released Friday also found Turner ahead by six points.

I am a New York conservative, and I am not alone; there are many fine conservatives living in New York! I lived in District 9 for almost 40 years, although I don't live there now. This situation is incredible! I don't think that District 9 has elected a Republican to that seat in more then 80 years! It will be nothing less then a joyous miracle to see it happen now! In the distance, I can hear the sweet sound of the liberals trembling(a sweet sound indeed)! We the people will take OUR Country back!

Robert, Glad to see conservatives in New York getting out the truth to people but some times it take a major problem to wake people up. It's a proven fact people will work harder to keep from losing something then to work and get it. Our freedom was set up by our Founding Fathers but years of looking the other way has but us in the spot we are in. So unless we work to keep freedom in America,it will begone in a stroke of the pen. Thanks New York for sending a freedom message to the White House. Keep this up America there are many more seats to fill.
